ODESSA, Texas (March 11, 2026) – The freshmen duo of Philipp Gaurieder and Joao D'Amorim of The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team have been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week. They are the second UTPB doubles team to earn the conference award in the last three weeks.

Gaurieder and D'Amorim went unbeaten at No. 3 doubles against Southwest Baptist and Hawaii Pacific. Their match against No. 38 Ouachita Baptist went unfinished. Gaurieder and D'Amorim won 6-2 against SBU and 6-3 over HPU. The duo is 3-1 on the season with three victories in a row.

UTPB Head Coach Chris Tolson said, "I am proud of the effort these guys are putting in. They had a great week on the doubles court. I look forward to them continuing to improve as we head into LSC play in a few weeks."
