RICHARDSON, Texas (February 15, 2026) – The final match of opening weekend for The University of Texas Permian Basin women's tennis team saw the Falcons fall 4-0 against Delta State University in neutral-site action on Sunday at the UTD Tennis Complex.
UTPB earned a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles by
Alyssa Glasgow and
Paige Sitanggang over Angie Moreno and Lena Kuehn, but
Dinethya Dharmaratne and
Mattea Bowe fell 6-2 against Yasmina Mayer and Anastasiia Iakovlieva at No. 2 doubles while in the decider,
Fanny Bergstrom and
Sophia Rashid came up short, 6-4, in a battle against Amelia Ciesielczyk and Trinity Ly at No. 1 doubles.
In singles, Rashid fell 6-3, 6-0 against Ly in the No. 2 spot, Glasgow fell 6-4, 7-5 against Kuehn in the No. 5 spot, and Dharmaratne fell 6-4, 6-2 against Ciesielczyk in the top spot.
Bergstrom forced a third set in a competitive battle at No. 3 singles while Bowe won her opening set at No. 4 singles.
