In the second match against NSU, the RiverHawks opened by claiming doubles play with a pair of 6-3 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. UTPB got a pair of wins in third-set super tiebreakers by Dharmaratne winning 10-5 at No. 1 singles and by Bergstrom grinding out an 11-9 win at No. 3 singles. At No. 5 singles,
Paige Sitanggang came up just short of forcing a third set as well, falling 6-1, 7-6 (7-2)
Words from Coach
Chris Tolson: "The ladies played great doubles tonight. We came up a bit short, but we were up on No. 1 and had chances at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. We were extremely aggressive at net and putting pressure on the other team. In singles the ladies had a lot of energy and competed well. All courts were close, but we were highlighted by big wins by Dinethya at No. 1 and Fanny at No. 3. It was great to see them come out with victories against great players."
