The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) is excited to announce the creation of an Athletics Hall of Fame, celebrating the rich history and remarkable achievements of its student-athletes, coaches, teams and other deserving individuals.  

"Since the introduction of women's tennis as the institution's first intercollegiate sport in 1979 continuing through the 14 varsity sports offered today, UTPB has had numerous outstanding coaches, student-athletes, teams and other contributors that have had a profound impact.  The time is right to start honoring those achievements with the creation of the Hall of Fame," said Vice President for Athletics Scott Larson." 

Inductees will be selected based on their accomplishments while they were a student-athlete at UTPB. The efforts of the individual/team and how they positively impacted UTPB athletics will also be considered. 

Nominations can be made in one of four categories:

Student-Athlete	Recognizes exceptional athletics performance over their athletic career at UTPB. Student-athletes are eligible for induction 5 years after departing UTPB.
Coach	Recognizes exceptional achievement while serving as a coach at UTPB.  Coaches are eligible for induction 5 years after departing UTPB.
Team	Recognizes exceptional performance by a particular UTPB team. Teams are eligible for induction 5 years after the proposed recognition year.
Meritorious Service	Recognizes individuals who have made special contributions to UTPB athletics by those who were not a student-athlete or coach (e.g., contributor, former athletics staff member, etc.)

Nominations must be received no later than April 1 each year to be considered by the Hall of Fame Committee for induction that fall.   

Any nominees not selected for induction in a particular year will remain under consideration for induction in future years.  

The inaugural class of inductees will be announced early this summer along with the date and other details surrounding the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
