ODESSA, Texas (November 4, 2025) – After becoming the first Falcon to be named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week at the end of last season, sophomore outside hitter
Ashlee Macias of The University of Texas Permian Basin volleyball team was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Macias averaged 5.27 kills with a .347 hitting percentage over three conference matches and set a program-record with 35 kills in a single match. Macias' record-setting performance came in a five-set win over Eastern New Mexico where she hit .456 on 57 swings and was a part of a double-double (16 digs). It was also the most kills in a single match in the LSC this season. On the week, she added 31 digs, two blocks – both solo – two assists and two service aces. Macias totaled 62 points as the Falcons also topped Sul Ross State on the road and suffered their only defeat to No. 14 West Texas A&M.
Macias becomes the fourth Falcon in program history and the third over the last two seasons to be named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week.
UTPB Head Coach
CJ Allard said, "It's been rewarding to watch Ashlee's journey this season. Fighting through some injuries, she's managed to work herself back to a point where she's a key contributor in each facet of the game. Her performance on Saturday afternoon totaling 35 kills and a .456 efficiency while recording her second-highest dig performance of the season will live in the history books forever. Our program continues to take strikes in the Lone Star Conference with our third offensive player of the week in the last two seasons with just one prior."
Next up, it will be an important week next week as UTPB hits the road for its final two road matches of the regular season. The Falcons will take on Lubbock Christian University at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 7, followed by Midwestern State University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8.
