ODESSA, Texas (November 25, 2025) –
Valeria Delgado and
Natalia Salas of The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team were each named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Delgado is a marketing major with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average as a junior. She started all 16 matches for the Falcons in goal and totaled over 1,300 minutes. She allowed a 1.24 goals-against average (9th in conference), made 93 saves (2nd in conference), held a .830 save percentage (4th in conference), and averaged 5.81 saves per game (3rd in conference). In addition, Delgado helped the Falcons set new program records for goals allowed in a season (19) and goals-against average (1.19). She did not allow more than one goal in a match during the first seven matches of the season. She made at least eight saves in six of the Falcons' final 10 matches of the season and set a new career-high in saves twice during a four-match span late in the season, including making a career-best 11 saves at Midwestern State University (Oct. 29). She has been named to the LSC Preseason Players to Watch list for goalkeepers during each of the last two seasons, and was named UTPB's Edgardo Madrid & Associates Women's Student-Athlete of the Month for September. Delgado was named to the 2025 LSC Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, has been named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in each of her first four semesters and earned the 2025 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. She has been awarded the National Leadership Scholarship 2025 (NSLS) and was awarded a Naylor Undergraduate Research Workshop invitation (2024).
Salas is a management major with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average as a senior. She started all 16 matches for the Falcons and accumulated over 1,400 minutes over the season as a midfielder and defender while also accounting for two assists. She played in all 90 minutes in each of the Falcons' final eight matches of the season. It was her second season in a row distributing two assists from the midfield/defense. She was a team captain this year and was named to the 2025 LSC Preseason Players to Watch list for defense. Salas is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree. She has been named to the Dean's List and the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in each of her semesters at UTPB, including each of the last five times with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (ranking in the top 10 percent of her class). She also earned 2025 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout in competition. Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Delgado and Salas were also both selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. Finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 17, 2025.
