ODESSA, Texas (October 23, 2025) – The UT Permian Basin men's golf team has been ranked No. 11 in the latest National Collegiate Golf Rankings (Clippd Scoreboard rankings). It is tied for the highest ranking in program history after the Falcons also ranked No. 11 during November 2023.
"It is a special day for UTPB Falcon golf," said Head Coach
Paul Chavez on his team tying the highest national ranking in program history. "Everyone on this team deserves this honor and has been working extremely hard to make history, and they deserve all of the credit. I see great things coming in the future, and look forward to our last event in Dallas this weekend."
Through three tournaments so far this season, the Falcons have finished sixth at the Shootout at PGA Rivera Maya (Sept. 28-30), won The Hrnciar (Oct. 6-7), and finished second overall while also finishing as the highest NCAA Division II team at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite (Oct. 14-15).
Nationally, the Falcons have moved up from No. 13 to No. 11 while in the South Central Region, they moved from No. 3 to No. 2, trailing only St. Mary's University (No. 9 nationally, No. 1 regionally).
Individually, UTPB has three players ranked in the top-55 nationally:
Ioan Rowe (No. 14),
Nizar Bourehim (No. 49) and
Will Tate (No. 54). In the South Central Region, Rowe is ranked No. 2, Bourehim is No. 11 and Tate is No. 12.
Rowe has finished 16th at the Shootout at PGA Rivera Maya, second at The Hrnciar, and third at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite. Bourehim was 28th at the Rivera Maya, won The Hrnciar, and was 47th at Ryan Palmer. Lastly, Tate finished seventh at the Shootout at PGA Rivera Maya, ninth at The Hrnciar, and 13th at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite.
"Obviously Ioan has had a superb year, but all three of these guys have been mainstays in the lineup and have really taken on a leadership role on this team," added Coach Chavez. "I see them continuing to have success and leading this team to many more championships."

The Falcons are back in action next week at the at the DBU Classic on Monday, October 27, to Tuesday, October 28, to finish off the Fall season.
