The only golfers finishing above Etxeberria in the individual standings were Northwestern Oklahoma State's Agathe Lacoste (72-75; 147) in third place, Cameron's Mollie Wheeler (74-72; 146) in second and Cameron's Maria Jose Savoca (70-72; 142) as the individual champion.
New UTPB Head Golf Coach
Paul Chavez said, "I am truly proud of the way both golfers performed this week, especially Lorena in her first collegiate tournament. To have two players finish in the top-10 is definitely a great start. When you finally start competing against other teams, sometimes golfers go the other way, and some meet the challenge, and these two definitely met the challenge. Both Lorena and Ainhoa realize that we still have work to do and that we need to continue to get better each week to improve their scores and their results."
UT Permian Basin heads to Pueblo, Colorado, Monday-Tuesday, October 7-8, to compete at the CSU-Pueblo Fall Invite at the Pueblo Country Club.
