Excelling on and off the court is not an easy feat to accomplish. However, that is exactly what UT Permian Basin men's basketball players - Keyon Craddock, DJ Armstrong, Lathaniel Bastian, Maison Adeleye, Ty Briscoe - have achieved, as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced that they were recipients of the 2023-24 NABC Honors Court.
"I am really proud of all of these guys for their academic success this year. Our culture is headed in the right direction when your best players are your best students," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Kyle Tolin. "I am thankful for the way they have represented UTPB and the basketball program on and off the court."
The Falcons finished second compared to other schools in the Lone Star Conference, only being beaten by St. Edward's who had six players earn NABC Honors Court honors.
The NABC Honors Court, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2023-24 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The NABC's academic award recognizes athletes from all levels of college basketball and had over 2,100 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court for 2023-24.
