TYLER, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin came from behind twice to earn a doubleheader sweep at UT Tyler on Saturday. The Falcons overcame a six-run deficit in the first game to win 7-6 before overcoming a three-run deficit to win game two 11-7.

The Falcons trailed 6-0 with just nine outs to go in the opener.
Carson Johnson doubled before scoring on a sac fly by
Ethan Flodstrom to get UTPB on the board. The team inched closer in the sixth.
Jack Haggerty plated a run with a bases-loaded single before
Mason Hamlin walked a run to make it 6-3.Â
Â
Facing their last chance at a comeback,
Austin Hall was plunked to open the seventh.
Caleb Boswell doubled to put runners in scoring position with one out.
Brent Rigtrup singled in a run to make it 6-4 and brought pinch-hitter
Taylor McDaniel. The sophomore's three-run home run put the Falcons on top 7-6.
Bryan Adams shut the door for the Falcons in the bottom half of the inning for the win.
Â
The offense kept rolling in the second game. Haggerty led off with a single and eventually came around to score on a base hit by Flodstrom. A ground ball by Johnson gave UTPB a 2-0 lead in the second. The Patriots responded with two in the second and three in the third for a 5-2 lead.
Â
The score remained there until the fifth. An error allowed Haggerty to reach and extend the inning. He scored on a sac fly by Hall, that would have ended the inning, and made it 5-3. Rigtrup worked a bases-loaded walk to make it 5-4.
Â
Clayton Coats cleared the bases with a three-run double to right and put the Falcons ahead by two. Coats eventually scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-5. With the bases still loaded, Hamlin was plunked to make it 9-5. Flodstrom capped off the rally with a two-run single for the six-run lead. The Patriots scored a run in the fifth and seventh but it wasn't enough as
Jalen Johnston shut the door.
Jaden Wilcox earned his fifth win of the year, throwing 6.0 innings and striking out five.
