TUCSON, Arizona - The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf team is in contention individually and as a team after the opening day of the West Texas A&M Invite at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Arizona.
Arnie Taguines leads the way individually for the Falcons, tied for ninth at +3 (75). Two shots behind her at +5 (77) is Ainhoa Gurrachaga who's tied for 20th.
Gabriela Maldonado and
Katrin Davidsdottir both finished +10 (82) and are tied for 60th.
Amanda Davidsson shot a +12 (84) and is tied for 72nd.
As a team, the Falcons shot +28 (316) for the first round and are tied for eighth overall. Oklahoma Christian leads the field at +13 (301) as a team while Texas A&M International's Yuliana Yapur is the individual leader at -3 (69).
