ODESSA, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin baseball team extended their winning streak to six games after a doubleheader sweep of Cameron on Friday at Roden Field. The Falcons won the first game 6-2 before the bats broke out in game two 15-4.

The Falcon offense struck first in the opening game.
Caleb Boswell started the second with a triple and came in to score on a single by
Victor Perez.Â

The score held there until the fifth when
Carson Johnson got things going with a triple. He came in to score on a single by
Mason Hamlin to double the lead. Later in the inning, Hamlin came around to score on a wild pitch and
Gibrian Pena brought home
Ethan Flodstrom for the 4-0 lead.Â

Cameron responded with a pair of runs in the sixth to make it 4-2. Johnson drove in Perez on a single before coming around to score on a wild pitch for what would be the final run of the game and a 6-2 final.

In the second game, Cameron scored a pair in the top of the first inning. UTPB got a run back in their half of the inning when
Austin Hall brought home Hamlin with a triple.Â

The offense broke it open in the second. Johnson tied the game at two with a single, bringing home Boswell.
Payton Matthews scored on a sac bunt by Haggerty to put the Falcons back on top. Hamlin worked a two-out walk to put two on for Flodstrom. Flodstrom doubled the pair of home before coming around to score on a single by Hall to make it 6-2.

Johnson kept the momentum going with a triple in the third to drive in
Clayton Coats, then he scored on a balk for the 8-2 lead. Later in the inning, Hall drove home another run with a single to put UTPB up by seven. An RBI double by Johnson in the fourth and a wild pitch allowing Hamlin to score in the fifth pushed the lead to 11-4. A pair of Aggie errors and three hit batters allowed the Falcons to plate four more runs in the sixth for what would be the 15-4 final.

Johnson led the day for UTPB with six hits, five runs, and four RBI. As a team, UTPB had four triples on the day and four doubles.

These two sides conclude a four-game series tomorrow at Roden Field with first pitch scheduled for noon.
