ODESSA, Texas - Gibrian Pena hit the second home run of his career at the University of Texas Permian Basin but it wasn't enough as they fell to West Texas A&M, 8-5, at Roden Field.

Pena and Flodstrom led the offense with two RBI each. Flodstrom and
Clayton Coats had two hits apiece.
Creede Jeffers struck out six over 6.1 innings.

The Falcons struck first in the bottom of the first.
Mason Hamlin led off the inning with a single before scoring on a base hit by Flodstrom for the early lead. The Buffs answered with a run in the second and the score remained 1-1 until the sixth.

A two-out bases loaded single plated two for the visitors who took a 3-1 lead. They added a run in the seventh for a three-run lead but the Falcons answered right back.

Carson Johnson worked a one-out walk before scoring on a double by Hamlin. He would later score on a double by Flodstrom to make it 4-3. In the top of the eighth, the Buffs put up four runs to blow the game open. Pena homered in the bottom half of the inning, but that was the final Falcon hit on the afternoon.

The Falcons are back at it tomorrow against the Buffs with the first pitch of a doubleheader scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
