UTPB See Greyhounds Sprint Past

PORTALES, N.M. – Five players scored in double figures as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's basketball team (8-7 Lone Star Conference, 13-8) lost 95-82 to Eastern New Mexico (10-4 LSC, 14-6), Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Arena.

UTPB and Eastern New Mexico went back-and-forth for the first 17 minutes.  Senior Keyon Craddock hit a tough shot in the paint to cut the gap to two, 38-36 with 3:25 to go.  The Greyhounds closed the half with a 15-2 run to effectively end the game.

For UT Permian Basin, juniors Alex Matthews  and Zy Wright scored 15 points each and graduate student Lathaniel Bastian had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Also in double figures was junior Maison Adeleye and Craddock.  It was Bastian 12th double-double of the season.

For Eastern New Mexico, Greg Johnson scored 27 points.

UTPB returns home, Thursday, Feb. 8 hosting West Texas A&M.  The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
