ODESSA, Texas (November 25, 2024) – Senior
Maison Adeleye of The University of Texas Permian Basin men's basketball team was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Adeleye pulled down 14 defensive rebounds, had six steals and blocked four shots to help the Falcons to a 2-0 week, including a conference-opening win over Angelo State. Adeleye also averaged 11 points, 8.5 rebounds overall and 6.5 assists. In a home-opening victory over Southwest (N.M.), he was just one assist shy of a triple double (12 points, 12 boards, nine assists). In the 65-62 win over ASU, Adeleye blocked two shots.
UTPB Head Coach
Kyle Tolin said, "Maison had a big week for us. This award is well deserved. He was very active on the defensive end all last week, and lead us in deflections and steals in both games."
UTPB will be back in action tomorrow as the Falcons head to Durant, Oklahoma, to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State University in nonconference action at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26.
