PORTALES, N.M. (October 5, 2024) – In their final meet before the Lone Star Conference Championships,
Alauna Stackhouse led the way for UT Permian Basin cross country with a top-10 finish while
Kayla Cepeda and
Julie Tejada both ran personal records for a 6K at the Greyhound Invite.
Stackhouse ran a time of 26:08.0 and finished in ninth place out of 35 total runners.
Cepeda finished 18th with a personal record time of 27:38.5, and Tejada was 21st with a personal record of 28:29.7.
Rounding out the five runners for UTPB was
Nayeli Galindo (29:22.5) in 23rd place and
Miranda Hernandez (30:35.7) in 25th.
As a team, UTPB was fourth out of five with 83 points. Amarillo College earned the win with 30 points.
UT Permian Basin is off until Saturday, October 26, when it competes at the Lone Star Conference Championships held at 9:45 a.m. at Kleberg Park in Kingsville, Texas.
