LUBBOCK, Texas – Sophomores Takumi Katsuda and Jonas Krahofer won titles for The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team on Day 3 of the ITA South Central Regional. 

At Flight A Doubles, Katsuda and Krahofer beat Luis Diaz Argente and Stephen Slocombe of Midwestern State (6-4, 3-6, 10-5 Tie Breaker) to win the championship.

Krahofer added a second title, this one in singles.  He beat Aaron Ben Anton of St. Mary's (6-4, 7-5) and Javier Romero of Western New Mexico (6-4, 6-2) to win the Flight A singles consolation draw.

UT Permian Basin will be competing at the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., Oct. 12-15.  Representing the Falcons will be Katsuda and Krahofer in doubles, the first time a doubles team has qualified.  The other qualifier in UTPB program history was Raul Stevens in 2017.
