ALPINE, TX – The UT Permian Basin baseball team continued their offensive onslaught on Tuesday at Sul Ross State, scoring double digit runs for the fifth time in seven games. The Falcons racked up 16 hits in their 15-7 win over the Lobos. The victory puts the Falcons four away from their first 20-win season since 2019.
Three of the first four Falcons reached base in the top of the first to load the bases.
Cooper Ciesielski brought in a run on a ground ball for the early lead.
Mason Hamlin followed with a stolen base of home for the 2-0 lead. The Falcons doubled their lead in the third.
Ethan Flodstrom singled with one out and advanced to second on a single by Hamlin.
Carson Johnson followed with a double to score one and keep runners in scoring position.
Brent Rigtrup's fly ball to right brought in Hamlin for the 4-0 lead.

Austin Hall who led off the inning with a double. The Lobos made things interesting with a pair of runs in their half of the fifth, but the Falcons put things away with a five-run sixth inning.
The first three batters reached to load the bases for
Christian Rodriguez who brought in a run on a hit-by-pitch. Flodstrom and Hamlin followed with a pair of ground balls to increase the lead to six. With a runner on third, Johnson homered to left field to push the Falcons ahead 10-2.
Two more crossed the plate in the top of the seventh on a single by Flodstrom and a wild pitch to balloon the lead to 10. The Lobos stayed in the game with five runs between the seventh and eighth innings, but the Falcons scored three more the rest of the way in the win.
Flodstrom had a huge day in the leadoff spot, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Johnson and MacKenzie had three hits each with Johnson also driving in three runs.
Trevor Barth got the start going 4.1 innings and allowing just two runs. The Falcons also swiped four bags, increasing their season total to 83 after stealing 78 total over the last three seasons.
The Falcons are off this weekend before hosting UT Tyler at Roden Field on Friday, April 14 in the first of four games.
