ODESSA, TX – UT Permian Basin has earned a spot in the 2023 Lone Star Conference Tennis Championships in Arlington, TX,
"Throughout this whole semester, as a team, we've been talking about how important it is to be playing our best TEAM tennis at this time," said Head Coach
Alex Hunt. "With us building up lots of momentum the past couple weeks, I'm confident that we will show up Thursday ready to take a crack at the tournament."
The LSC Men's Tennis Championship Tournament will feature the top eight men's teams based on the final conference standings. The championship will be played at the Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas, April 20-22, 2023.
"The Lone Star Conference is extremely deep when it comes to talent," said Hunt. "We just have to treat every single match like it's the championship match. We have to treat every single point like it's the championship point. We have to create that magic for ourselves and fully embrace the moments that will come here in a few days. I trust this group of hard-working, passionate guys that we have. I'm excited to fight alongside these men once again."
The Falcons will be the sixth seed in the tournament and will face the number three seed Midwestern State on Thursday, April 20 at noon.
The quarterfinal rounds will be on Thursday April 20, semifinals on Friday, April 21 and the championship on Saturday, April 22.
