WICHITA FALLS, TX – UT Permian Falcons could smell blood in the water over at Midwestern State University Saturday morning.
After picking up a big win in doubles play from
Rhea Singh and
Jenny Nguyen (6-4) the Falcons carried that momentum into singles play. Singh and Nguyen each picked up another set of wins in singles play.
Teodora Vrucan took the match to three sets, and
Lisa Guitton went three sets with a tie breaker in each set. However, the Falcons couldn't put away enough close matches to pull off the upset as they fall to MSU 5-2.
"Our ladies team almost pulled off an upset today over a nationally ranked opponent," said Head Coach
Alex Hunt. "Unfortunately, a couple matches just got away from us when the match got tight."
BOX SCORE
The Falcons will stay on the road for a match tomorrow against conference foe Lubbock Christian. That match will be Sunday, starting at 1pm.
