KINGSVILLE, TX – After finding some rhythm in game one Friday, UT Permian Basin baseball caught fire Saturday against Texas A&M Kingsville.
The Falcons scored at least one run in all seven innings of game one to take their first win of the series with a 13-6 win.
UTPB was led by
Cooper Ciesielski and
Ethan Babcock-Barrie who both hit homeruns in the game. The Falcons stayed aggressive on the bases with a total of five stolen bags in game one of the afternoon.
Michael Clapperton had a pair while, Ciesielski,
Brandon Glowacki, and
Jack Haggerty had one each.
Falcon pitchers collected nine strikeouts with three coming from
Cade Pollard who picked up his second win of the season.
Austin Raleigh also had three strikeouts in one inning pitched.
In the second game of the afternoon, the Falcons fell behind early and could never close the gap, as TAMKU and UTPB split the day with one win each.
The Falcons did show some power in the second game of the day as
Mason Hamlin hit a triple and
Carson Johnson picked up a double.
The final game of the series will take place Sunday and is scheduled to start at 1pm.
UTPB will return to Roden Field to face St. Edwards March 10, 11, 12.
