GRAND JUNCTION, CO - Day two of the conference swim meet for the RMAC had the Falcons making moves and finding their way to the medal stand.
Here are the highlights from day two of the meet:
Freshman
Emma Gerhart set a new school record in the women's 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:37.71. She took eighth place.
UTPB secured a NCAA National B Cut time of 9:26.22 by sophomore Niklas Heelien in the 1000 men's freestyle.
Junior
Daniel Bednarski grabbed a 14
th place finish in the men's 200 IM.
In the 50 free style, two Falcons had a solid finish. Sophomore
Avery Joiner grabbed 12
th place while junior
Trevor Heath finished 14
th.
In today's 3-meter 11 dive diving event, the Falcons had an impressive day as two divers finishing in the top three spots. Junior
Matthew Lenzo lead the group setting a new team record with 562.25 points for a second-place finish. Freshman
Carter Wood finished third while freshman
Tristan Negrete finished sixth.
In the relays, the women finished seventh in the 200 medley with the team of Jasmine Tscherne,
Ana Hernandez,
Ava Reaume, and Gabby Gonzalez.
The Falcons had an impressive race in tonight's men's 200 medley relay. The team of
Daniel Bednarski,
Axel Torres Hecker,
Szymon Gilzynski, and
Zach Jones finished in third place.
To finish out the evening's events, the Falcon women's 800 free relay set a new school record with a time of 7:47.27. The team was made up of Gabby Gonzalez,
Ana Hernandez,
Emma Gerhart, and
Avery Joiner.
Overall the women are in seventh place with a score of 59. The men are in fourth place with an overall score of 155.
