UTPB Falls On Road To Rams

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Junior DJ Armstrong, graduate student Lathaniel Bastian and senior Keyon Craddock scored in double-figures as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's basketball team (7-3, 3-2 Lone Star Conference) lost 74-65 to #20 Angelo State (5-0 LSC, 8-1), Tuesday afternoon at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.

Angelo State came out fast getting to an 11-2 lead by the 15:24 mark.  UTPB came back as Craddock knocked down a jumper.  That ended a 9-4 run to pull the Falcons to 15-11 with 13 minutes to go.

The Rams seemed to be in control up 22-13 at the 10:35 mark.  UT Permian Basin began to chip away.

Craddock dropped in a long range missel to make it 25-20 with 6:03 to go.  ASU scored the last 17 points of the half to effectively seal the game.

For UT Permian Basin, Armstrong scored 15 points and Craddock scored 14. Bastian had 13 points and 14 rebounds, his fourth consecutive double-double.

For Angelo State, Kevon Godwin scored 22 points.

UTPB is off until Monday, Dec. 18 when they host Navajo Technical College.  The game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
