Over the last three months, UT Permian Basin Men's Golfer Sangha Park has been playing some of the best golf of his career – breaking three school records on his way to being ranked the No. 1 golfer in the country.

"It feels great to be on top, and I'm honored that I'm ranked No. 1," said Park. "I work really hard in practice and after every tournament to get my game to the next level. So, it feels great that all the hard work I've put in has paid off."

Park's stretch of impressive performances started on September 26 when he won the RJGA South Central Shootout by shooting 10 under par. That tournament win led to Park earning his first Lone Star Conference (LSC) Men's Golfer of The Week Honors for the fall season.

The very next week, Park elevated his game to the next level, breaking the previous 18-hole school record of 64, by shooting a 63 (-8) in round one of the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite. Things got even better from there as Park earned his second tournament win of the fall season concluding the Ryan Palmer Foundation shooting nine under par.

Park's second tournament win didn't come easy, due to the fact he was tied for first with Lukas Taggart of Colorado School of Mines and had to win a playoff hole to claim the tournament victory. On the first hole of the playoff, Park made a 35-foot putt for birdie to win.

To no surprise, Park's second tournament win would once again lead to him being named LSC Men's Golfer of The Week for the second straight week.

Before wrapping up the fall season Park helped the men's golf team make history by winning their first ever tournament at the HPU Sharks Shootout (Oct. 23-24).

"So, the first tournament win in Hawaii, I played my worse round of golf of the semester and I was so worried about my team. After I finished the first round, I checked the leaderboard and we were on top and I was like oh wow," said Park. "I did my best in the second and third round because I was dealing with a back injury and after I finished play, I saw my team waiting for me outside the clubhouse and it felt great. I was hyped and so happy that all the work we put in to be a champion had paid off."

Despite dealing with a back injury Park wrapped up the fall golf season on a very strong note – breaking two more school records.

In round one of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, Park broke his own 18-hole school record (63) by shooting a 62 (-10). Park's dominant performance on the course continued on day two, resulting in him breaking another school record he held – tournament wins in a single season - as he earned his third tournament win of the season, shooting 10 under par. The previous school record for tournament wins in a single season was two.

Additionally, the Falcons men's golf team won the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and set a new 36-hole school record shooting 19 under par.
