Falcons Drive Out Lobos

ODESSA, Texas – Five players scored in double-figures as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's basketball team (2-1) beat Sul Ross State (1-1) 94-51, Friday night at The Falcon Dome.

For the first five minutes of the game, UTPB and Sul Ross State played on even terms.  Senior Keyon Craddock dropped in a 3-point bullseye.  That put the Falcons up 15-7 with 14:50 to go.

A triple from the Lobos cut it to five, 15-10 at the 14-minute mark.  Graduate Student Lathaniel Bastian hit a tough shot in traffic.  That started a 23-6 run for the Falcons to put the game away.

UTPB shot 57.4% from the floor and 36.5% from behind the arc.  The Falcons controlled the boards pulling down 40 to just 24 for SRSU.  UTPB held the Lobos to  just 38.8% from the floor and 30.8% on triples.

For UT Permian Basin, Bastian had 12 points and 14 rebounds with all but one being defensive boards.  Junior Maison Adeleye had 20 points and shot 8-of-10 from the floor while junior Zy Wright scored 18 points with nine rebounds and two steals.  Joining the double-digit scoring club was junior Ty Briscoe and Craddock.

For Sul Ross State, Tyler Jackson scored 10 points.

UTPB stays home, Saturday, Nov. 24 playing Northern New Mexico.  The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
