A little home cooking was all the UT Permian Basin Volleyball offense needed on Friday as they were efficient from start to finish in a straight set victory over Midwestern State.  The Falcons had just four errors and hit .315 as a team while Mayce Barker, Taurie Magee, and Logan Terrazas led the way with eight kills each.

The teams exchanged blows in the opening set after the Falcons took a 3-0 lead.  Neither side could grab momentum as the lead swung back-and-forth before the Falcons closed strong.  A kill by Barker broke a 22-22 tie and a back set on the following rally put the Falcons up enough to eventually close out the set on a kill by Magee.

From there it was all Falcons as they jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the second set thanks to four kills and an ace by Maya Detwiler and Stephanie Sanchez.  The Mustangs closed the gap to five but a 7-0 run put the set to rest.  The Falcons took charge in the third set with an early 6-0 run followed by a 7-3 run.  Another extended run of 5-0 late in the third clinched the team's first Lone Star Conference victory of the season after spending the last three weeks on the road.

Devin Alcoser led the team with 18 assists and nine digs on the night.  Detwiler added 16 assists to the effort.  Five Falcons had at least five digs in a complete defensive effort and held the Mustangs to a -0.042 hitting percentage in the final stanza.
