Box Score 3 Strong all around play powered UT Permian Basin Men's and Women's Tennis to their first victories of the season on Friday up in Colorado. The women cruised to a 6-1 win over Colorado State – Pueblo before the men defeated Colorado Mesa 5-2.
The women opened the day with a dominating doubles performance. They dropped just three combined games to grab the point. That strong play carried over to singles. The Falcons secured wins along the top five lines, winning all but seven points to clinch the victory.
The men followed the women with a strong performance against Colorado Mesa. They picked off where they left off yesterday in winning the doubles point. Singles play was much more closely contested. Three matches went to a third set, with
Patryk Kosinski and
Jonas Krahofer winning their tiebreakers.
Paul Schwieger and
Takumi Katsuda won their match to give the Falcons the 5-2 win.
In the last match of the day the women fell to Nebaska-Kearney 6-1.
