Incoming freshman Arnie Taguines hasn't had a round of collegiate golf yet, but if her showing at the IMG Junior Worlds at Torrey Pines is any indication, she'll have a stellar career at UT Permian Basin.  Competing against some of the top juniors in the world, she finished 26^th over four rounds.
 
Taguines, from the Philippines, finished E (288) at Torrey Pines, one of the most famous courses in the world.  She started strong with a -1 (71) in the opening round and followed with back-to-back even par rounds. 
 
"I am happy to be able to represent the Philippines and play one of my best four round totals. Torrey Pines is one of the most beautiful courses I've been at, and it was a very competitive tournament with all participants playing very well," said Taguines. "The winds were quite difficult to manage but I was able to do my best. I could have done better in some areas but I am happy with what I was able to accomplish. This tournament was definitely a confidence booster and I am looking forward to playing for and joining UTPB this August."
