Playing No. 1 singles as a freshman is quite the task and Teodora Vrucan has shown she can hang with the best of them so far in 2022.  On Wednesday she nearly knocked off Maya Donkor of Texas A&M - Kingsville, who a year ago was an All-Conference honorable mention.  Vrucan pushed her opponent but fell 7-6, 7-4.

While the Falcons fell to the Javelinas, it wasn't without some close calls.  Brooke Runyan nearly forced a third set with a 7-5 set two defeat.  Monika Cantu gave it all in her match and forced a first set tiebreaker at 7-6.
