Arnaldo Garcia Torres pitched the game of his college career on Friday at UT Tyler. The junior allowed just one base runner over 2.2 innings without allowing a hit for UT Permian Basin.
Despite outhitting the Patriots, Falcon pitching struggled with control early. After a nine-run first inning, the pitching settled down and allowed just three runs. The offense couldn't break through even though they had two runners on in the first, fourth, and seventh innings in the 12-0 final.
Michael Clapperton,
Garret Thornton,
Oswaldo Godina,
Caleb Vuono, and Gabe Melendez all had hits on the evening.
The Falcons get back at tomorrow in doubleheader action starting at 3 PM. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
