It's shaping up to be a two-horse race for the team lead in home runs as Oswaldo Godina and Garret Thornton both hit their fourth of the season for UT Permian Basin.  The Falcons hit five over the weekend at St. Edward's who had allowed just one coming into the series.

Looking for a fast start the Falcons got it offensively.  Thornton reached on a single and came around to score on a double by Godina in the top of the first.  The bottom of the order got things going in the fourth.  Devin Ferrari singled and stole second.  Marcus Johnson hit a chopper to short on a hit-and-run.  Ferrari raced around third and just beat the tag at the plate to score on an infield hit.  In the fifth Thornton hammered one to left center for a two-run homer while Godina finished the scoring when he hit his, a solo shot, in the seventh.  Falcon pitching couldn't slow down the Hilltopper offense and fell 15-5.

Godina finished the day 3-for-4 while Thornton had a pair of hits.  The duo is now tied for third in the Lone Star Conference in home runs while the team still leads the conference with 19.  Trevor Berg struck out five in four innings in the starting role on the mound.
