In what was an instant classic from the first serve of the night,
Chandra Reed had a career high nine blocks to go along with eight kills on Friday for UT Permian Basin Volleyball.
Taurie Magee led the offense with 14 kills while
Aquincia Strambler added 11.
Maya Detwiler had 19 assists to go along with 12 digs while
Jenna Gray had 14 assists. Defensively
Daylee Doggett led all players with 20 digs while

Neither side had the edge early on but a 3-0 Falcon run made it 12-9. The Patriots battled back to make it a one-point game but three-straight kills by Magee, Strambler, and Reed gave the Falcons enough room to take the first set 25-21. In the second set the Falcons had control early before a 6-0 Patriot run pushed them ahead. The Falcons responded with a late 5-1 run but it was a little too late as the Patriots tied things at one set each.
After the Patriots took the third set 25-21, the Falcons had work to do in the fourth. The Patriots held a four-point advantage but a 4-0 Falcon run tied things. After surrendering a point, the Falcons reeled off five-straight points and led 22-15. The Patriots stormed back with an 8-0 run but an error followed by back-to-back kills by Allison forced a fifth set. The Falcons faced match point after a pair of Patriot errors, but the visitors were able to fight back and take the fifth set 16-14 and defeated the Falcons 3-2.
