A week after a season opening thriller against Adams State, UT Permian Basin came out on top in the rematch behind
Azariah Seay's 30-point outburst. Seay did most of his damage from the free throw line, going a perfect 16-for-16 from the charity stripe.
The Falcons bullied the Grizzlies on the boards, grabbing 39 to their 21.
Daniel Moody had 13 points while
Nathaniel Powell added 11 off the bench.
The Grizzlies jumped out to the lead early but back-to-back threes by Seay put the Falcons on top. Seay had 16 of the team's first 18 points as the team ballooned their lead to seven. Later in the half
Rodney Carson's three gave the Falcons their largest lead at eight.
Out of the half the Falcons led by five but the Grizzlies made a run. After the Falcons led for the all but five minutes of the opening half the Grizzlies retook the lead. The Falcons wouldn't let that deficit get higher than two and when
Keyon Craddock converted a three-point play at the 11-minute mark they went ahead for good. Late in the game
Daniel Moody put things away with a pair of threes to go up by 14 and held on to win 79-67.
