Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Warren Sets Career High with Perfect Night

With UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball looking for a spark in the second half, Max Warren provided it scoring 15 of his game high 17 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 on the night.  The Falcon offense caught fire in the second half shooting 70 percent from the field against RV Angelo State.

The Rams took the lead early in the first half but every time they attempted to pull away the Falcons closed in.  Kendal Frey had back-to-back baskets early after the Rams grabbed a seven-point lead to keep it within a score.  The teams exchanged blows with neither side unable to grab more than a four-point swing for much of the half.  It was the Rams able to grab momentum closing the half on a 6-2 run and headed into the locker room up eight.

The Falcons came out firing in the second half and erased the deficit in just over 90 seconds.  On their first possession, Frey buried a three and was followed with a layup by Jordan HornMiles Daniels answered a missed Ram three with one of his own to tie things at 37.  Moments later a layup by Alvarez Powell gave the Falcons their first lead of the night.  Warren went on a five-point run on his own to keep the Falcons in front by just two.

The teams continued to trade the lead, 14 times in total on the night and were tied 14 times, including four straight Falcon baskets made by Warren.  DaJuan Jones kept things tied with 33 seconds left with a jumper from the elbow but the Rams answered with a bucket with 2.2 seconds remaining for the 80-78 final.

Horn finished with 16 points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Jones had 15 points along with eight assists.  Lemmie Howard also finished in double figures with 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting.  The Falcons came out on fire in the second half hitting 11 of their first 12 from the field to climb back into the game.  It is the fourth game of the season for the Falcons decided by two points or less.
