Nick Hernandez had a banner day at the plate Friday, including a two-run homer in the fifth inning and three RBI.  It was the second home run of the season for the junior and raised his batting average to .300 on the season.  Hernandez and Devin Ferrari homered in the fifth to spark a three-run rally.
 
UT Permian Basin answered the one run they gave up in the top of the first to Eastern New Mexico, on a Garrett Thornton single to score Colin Fabio. Hernandez brought another run home on a sacrifice fly to right scoring Michael Clapperton in third to make it a 3-2 Greyhound lead.
 
Trailing still in the fifth, the Falcon offense used the long ball to get back in the game.  Hernandez hit a two-run homer over the batter's eye in straight away center and two batters later Ferrari hit a solo shot to left center to close the gap to two. The Falcons scored one more in the sixth on a Fabio single to left scoring Pemron Burrows.  The Falcons made things interesting in the ninth, getting two runners on, but couldn't push another run across for the 8-6 final.
 
Garrett Thornton led the offense with three hits while scoring and driving in a run.  Michael Clapperton went 2-for-4 scoring a run.
 
Clay Thompson came in to relieve Trevor Berg pitching 2.2 innings and striking out two batters. Trey Penny finished the game giving up one hit in 1.2 innings and collected two strikeouts.
