Big man
Malik Brikat put together one of the best games of his UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball career, posting his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds against No. 9 Lubbock Christian. The junior nearly accomplished the feat in just the first half with eight point and nine boards.
Jay Workman had a solid second half with nine points, including five from the free throw line. He finished with a team-high 14 points for the short-handed Falcons, playing with only seven bodies.
Trevion Lamar also finished in double figures with 12 points while grabbing four rebounds.
As a team the Falcons outrebounded the No. 9 team in the country 31-30 and stayed out of foul trouble, only sending the Chaps to the line 10 times. It wasn't enough as the Falcons got off to a slow start and couldn't catch up, falling 88-49.
Only one week remains in the regular season before the Lone Star Conference postseason starts. The Falcons travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to start the week on Thursday against Midwestern State. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow your favorite Falcon teams all season long.
