Miles Daniels shot 5-of-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 20 points on Saturday for UT Permian Basin. He also ended with two assists and tied for the team lead in steals with two.
Daniels started red hot for the Falcons as he drained six of the first nine Falcon points as they went on a 9-2 run to begin the game. Westminster came back with 6:44 to go in the half and tied the game 15-15. The Falcons used a 13-2 run to go up 28-19 with 2:34 to go in the half highlighted by Daniels scoring four points during the run. The Griffins would take a 7-2 run into the half, including a buzzer beater three, to trail by three.
The Griffins started the second half on a 6-0 run to go up by three, but the Falcons answered it with an 8-2 run including threes from
Dajuan Jones and Daniels to give the Falcons a three-point cushion. The Griffins got another run going and went back ahead with 13:16 to go in the game. The Falcons answered back with a 7-2 run to take back the lead with a Daniels three to end the run. The rest of the second half was back and forth basketball where no team could get a run going. The Griffins grabbed a slim lead late and made their free throws down the stretch for the 69-68 final.
Dajuan Jones led the Falcons with 21 points and five assists. Right behind him was Daniels with his 20 and
