Jordan Horn proved he's one of the best scorers in the Lone Star Conference and so far this young season hasn't been any different. On Monday the senior exploded for 23 points while knocking down five threes as the Falcons earned an 86-54 victory over Sul Ross.
Neither offense could find a rhythm early with the Falcons only leading 9-5 at the first media timeout. From there the Falcons heated up.
Dajuan Jones hit back-to-back buckets to start a 12-0 run.
Max Warren followed with a lay-in before they started to connect from long range.
Keyon Craddock buried a three and on the next possession Horn knocked one down. They pushed the lead to 20 after a three by
Alvarez Powell and extended the lead further minutes later on a basket by
Zavon Godwin.
It took nearly four minutes in the second half for the Falcons to score but it was Horn igniting the offense with a pair of threes. The Falcons led by as many as 39 in the second half before emptying the bench down the stretch.
Miles Daniels finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Craddock had 10 points off the bench only missing one shot. The Falcons dominated in the paint with 34 points and only allowed 18.
The Falcons hit the road for Thanksgiving break. They'll head to Washington for games Friday and Saturday nights. Download the UTPB Athletics App for the latest news on your favorite Falcon teams.
