After a 36-assist performance, only one person has more assists in UT Permian Basin Volleyball history than
Analise Lucio. Lucio now has 2,387 for her illustrious career. The senior also contributed defensively with seven digs on the afternoon.
The Falcons picked up their fourth straight victory in Lone Star Conference play, all without dropping a set. They are now tied with Lubbock Christian for fourth place in the conference at 9-2.
Aquincia Strambler had the hot hand early for the Falcons. She had two kills in a 6-1 run that gave the Falcons a 7-3 lead they didn't look back on. A 5-1 later in the set gave the Falcons an unsurmountable seven-point lead as they finished the set one, 25-17.
In set two, the Falcons rallied late behind a 4-1 run to give them the lead 24-22. The Javelins scored one more point before the Falcons put the set away on an error to take it 25-23.
The Falcons used a 12-3 in the third set to take control of the match. In that run the Falcons were led by
Isela Murillo with three kills and a service ace. Strambler also had three kills during the run. The Falcons closed out the set on a 5-2 run to give them the set three victory, 25-17.
Strambler led the Falcons in kills with 17 while
Isela Murillo was the other Falcon in double digits with 13.
Erika Lozano and
Daylee Doggett had two service aces. Defensively the Falcons were led by Doggett with 17 digs and two blocks from Maycee Barker and
Chandra Reed.
