Falcon Defense Holds Dustdevils to Lowest Hitting Percentage of the Season

UT Permian Basin Volleyball did their part Friday night to keep pace with a tight Lone Star Conference race, picking up their third straight victory at Texas A&M International.  The victory is the third sweep in a row for the Falcons who are now 8-2 in LSC play.

The Falcons had their most digs in a three-set match, 78, and the fifth most in a match in a season overall.  Five Falcons had double digit digs including Analise Lucio's 15.  Lucio also led all players with 32 assists as she closes in on second place in program history.

Daylee Doggett also had 15 digs on the night while Netanya Allison added 13.  Isela Murillo and Erika Lozano got into the action with 11 each.  Aquincia Strambler and Taurie Magee had 12 kills each and hit above .320 on the night.  The Falcons hit .248 as a team as Mayce Barker and Chandra Reed had seven kills each.

The offense came out firing, not allowing the Dustdevils to reach 20 points in each of the first two sets.  They held the Dustdevils to just a .054 hitting percentage on the night, the lowest hitting percentage of any Falcon opponent this season.

The Falcons look for their fourth win in a row tomorrow at Texas A&M – Kingsville.  Download the UTPB Athletics App for the latest news on your favorite Falcon teams.
