Game Recap: Volleyball |

Strambler Continues Sensational Season with 14-Kill Afternoon

Aquincia Strambler continues to prove why she's one best in the Lone Star Conference Saturday afternoon at UAFS.  The Midland native had 14 kills, her eighth straight game with double digit kills and third in a row with 14.

UT Permian Basin Volleyball came out firing and took an early 5-2 lead.  The Lions charged back to make it a one-point game, but the Falcons responded with a 7-1 run to put them in front for good.  In set two both teams started by trading long runs.  The Lions took over in the middle of the set going on a 9-2 run to take a 15-10 lead. The Falcons would not give up as they ended the set on a 7-2 run of their own, but it was a little too late as the Lions took the set.

Tied at seven in the third set, the Falcons went on a 6-2 run to take the lead.  Later in the set the Falcons scored seven in a row to pull away and eventually take the set.  In the fourth set, the Falcons held the early advantage, but an 8-2 Lion run shifted the lead.  The Falcons eventually cut the deficit to one but couldn't get it closer to go to a fifth set.  In the fifth set, the Lions took momentum early and pulled away to take it 3-2.

Analise Lucio and Kaitlyn Bustamante each had three service aces to lead the Falcons. Chandra Reed had four blocks with Daylee Doggett leading the team is digs with 14. Lucio and Isela Murillo were right behind Doggett with 13 digs a piece. Lucio also led the Falcons in assists with 23.
