Jada Berry led the Falcons with nine points and buried three from deep, but it wasn't enough as UT Permian Basin fell to the Texas A&M - Kingsville 58-48 in a road showdown.
Alexus Quaadman got the offense started in the first quarter with a layup at the 8:13 mark to tie the game 2-2. Both teams traded baskets as the Javelinas (3-3) took a one-point lead 16-15 into the second quarter.
The Falcons (2-4) went on a 10-0 run to start the quarter. 
Avalon Munoz and 
Karyssa Jackson hit back-to-back threes then Jackson hit another basket and 
Chaunta Thomas hit two free throws as the Falcons headed into the locker room up 30-27.
In the third quarter, 
Jada Berry hit back-to-back threes to give the Falcons a six-point lead, but they could only score two more points in the quarter as they trailed the Javelinas 51-38 heading into the final quarter.
The Falcons started out the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run.  Jackson and Munoz both hit jumpers, then 
Kim Best hit two free throws and Quaadman finished the run with a layup but it wasn't enough as the Falcons could not complete the comeback as they fell 58-48.
Thomas finishing with eight points and eight rebounds. 
Morgan Helgesen also grabbed eight rebounds.  
Avalon Munoz, 
Lauren Stallworth and Thomas had two assists each, and 
Karyssa Jackson and Thomas had a block each.
The Falcons will be back in the Falcon Dome when they face West Texas A&M on Thursday at 5 PM.
