Jordan Horn continued his sensational start to the 20-21 season with his fifth 20-point game in eight contest, all of them coming over the last six games.  The senior scored 22 points Friday night at Texas A&M - Kingsville along with seven rebounds but it wasn't enough as UT Permian Basin fell to the Javelinas 73-62.
The Falcons (6-2) came out firing on offense.  Five early points from
Trevion Lamar and a three by
Wesley Hayes put the Falcons up five.  The lead didn't last long as a 15-2 Javelina (6-1) run put the home team out in front.  Layups by
Jay Workman,
Malik Brikat, and Horn put the Falcons back in the game, and went into the half trailing 33-26.
The Falcons made a run in the second half while trailing by double digits.  Brikat started things off with a free throw and Lamar followed with a four-point run.  Horn buried a three to pull the Falcons back to within six but that's as close as the Falcons would get the rest of the way.
Lamar added 15 points along with seven rebounds and four assists.  Brikat and
Quinntez Grimes also grabbed seven boards each as the Falcons outrebounded the Javelinas 40 to 30.
The Falcons are back in action tomorrow as they wrap-up a weekend series with the Javelinas with tip-off starting at 4.
