Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Brikat Perfect from the Field Against No. 11 DBU

Malik Brikat couldn't miss from the field Saturday, finishing with 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting for UT Permian Basin against No. 11 Dallas Baptist.  The junior added a pair of free throws and five boards off the bench in just 12 minutes of action.

After his heroics last night, Jordan Horn led the team in scoring once again with 17.  The Minneapolis native is now averaging 20.2 points per game to lead the team and has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.  Trevion Lamar had an all-around strong night for the Falcons, finishing with 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Coming off last night's upset of the No. 11 Patriots, the Falcon offense was slow to get going.  The Patriot offense came out firing, connecting on their first six threes.  The Falcons made things interesting in the second half as they chipped away at the Patriot lead.  Two late Brikat layups and a three by Luka Juricki cut the deficit down to 15.  In the end it wasn't enough as they fell 91-74.  The Falcons wrapped-up a stretch including their fourth consecutive game against the No. 11 team in the country, sixth game against a team ranked at the time of the game, and eighth consecutive game against a team currently ranked in the top 25.

The Falcons return in a week, taking on Western New Mexico next Saturday in Odessa starting at 1 PM.
