Nick Bartley was dominant, shutting down the Eastern New Mexico offense over seven innings. The senior allowed just three hits and struck out seven in the 5-0 win.
Things got going for the Falcon (6-13) offense in the second, when
Garrett Thornton tripled to start the inning. A few batters later, he came into score on an
Alex Wixson single to take the 1-0 lead.
Torren Brozovich singled to score
Devin Ferrari to go up 2-0. The Falcons added a pair in the fifth on a two-run double by
Lincoln Choate to bring in
Pemron Burrows and
Michael Clapperton.
Nick Hernandez singled home Choate in the seventh for the fifth and final run of the day. Bartley only faced trouble in the second inning, escaping a bases loaded, one-out situation before settling in for the win.
Choate,
Jonathan Bermudez, and Wixson each had two hits each.
Braeden Gould finished things off, striking out two in two innings of work.
These teams are back in action tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 3.
