Nick Hernandez broke out in a big way Saturday afternoon.  The junior ripped a first inning RBI-double and slugged his first home run of the season later in the game.  As a team the Falcons homered three times, but the explosive offense wasn't enough as they fell to Tarleton 17-6 in Stephenville.

The Falcons (1-4) started quick in the top of the first inning when Hernandez drove in Alex Wixson and Torren Brozovich on a double to center field for the early 2-0 lead. The Falcons tied the game at 3-3 on a sacrifice fly by Hernandez scoring Jay Desoto in the top of the third. Down 6-3 in the top of the fourth, Nick Schnopp hit a solo blast to left to trim the Texan (2-3) lead to 6-4. Hernandez and Jonathan Bermudez blasted back-to-back home runs to tie the game 6-6 in the top of the fifth.  The Texan offense awoke, springing for seven in the fifth, and four in the sixth to pull away.
 
Hernandez finished 2-for-3 with a four RBI. Michael Clapperton registered two hits as well in the effort.

Next up for the Falcons will be the third and final game of the series against Tarleton on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled at 11 AM.
