UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball earned a birth in the Lone Star Conference Playoffs Saturday and will take on Tarleton next Tuesday in Stephenville in the first round of the playoffs.  Senior Pat Dembley scored 24 in his final home game, and now sits 40 points behind the program's single season record.  Fellow senior Miles Washington finished with 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds.  Their efforts weren't enough as the Falcons fell 92-67 to Angelo State in their home finale.

Miles Washington got things going, scoring four points early for the Falcons (16-15) as they got out to an early lead. The teams traded baskets but a 10-0 run by the Rams (19-7) put them out in front.  The Falcons answered with a 7-0 run to close the gap with two minutes to go.  The Rams closed the half with a 6-0 run to take a nine point lead into the half.  The Rams pulled away early in the second half and went head for good after a 14-0 run to stretch the lead further.

Senior Cale Danielson earned his first career start, grabbing three rebounds in nine minutes of action.

The Falcons begin the Lone Star Conference playoffs Tuesday in Stephenville against Tarleton.  Game time is yet to be determined.  Stay tuned to utpbfalcons.com for updates and ticket information.
