Alexus Quaadman continues to be a force in the paint, recording five blocks in a game for the second consecutive game tying the school record for blocks in a game. Quaadman now has 20 blocks over her last six games giving her 28 on the season. The 28 blocks put her ninth in the Lone Star Conference and just one block in back of the single season program record set by Danielle Wilson in 2014-15. Her efforts weren't enough as the Falcons fell to Eastern New Mexico 66-43.
The Falcon (8-12, 5-9) offense struggled early, falling behind by nine. Back to back baskets by
Kristian James and
Yazmin Batch cut the Greyhound (14-5, 8-5) lead to just five but that was as close as they'd get. The offense struggled as the Greyhounds went on a 16-0 run to pull away into the second quarter.
Rory Carter kept things within striking distance, knocking down a pair of threes to close the first half.
Holly Hemmeline opened the second half with a three-point play and the Falcons trailed by just 12. Later baskets by Batch and James made things interesting as the Falcons trailed by just 11, but a Greyhound three shifted momentum and they pulled away down the stretch.
Carter and James were the only Falcons in double figures with 11 points each. The Falcons were good at scoring off Greyhound miscues, scoring 21 of their points off turnovers.
The Falcons are back in action Saturday as they take on #19 West Texas A&M up in Canyon with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
