Carson Newsome recorded his first double-double as a Falcon scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while
Pat Dembley scored a game-high 28 points, 20 of them in the second half. It wasn't enough as the Falcons fell late in the second half 85-77.
The teams traded baskets early before a Falcon (11-4, 4-2) got a spark to jump out ahead by seven.
Elvin Rodriguez knocked down a three and pair of free throws in the run. The Falcons pushed their lead to as many as eight but the Rams (8-2, 4-2) answered with a run of their own to cut the lead to one. After trading points the Falcons went into the half up three.

Adam Rivera. The teams traded blows, with each going on a run of four or five points followed by the other answering to keep the game tight. The Falcons coudln't break through though and were unable to take back the lead. Dembley hit a free throw to tie the game with 6:27 to go but the Rams responded with an 11-2 run to pull away down the stretch.
Elvin Rodriguez scored 14 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting. Dembley caught fire in the second half scoring 20 of his 28 points.
The Falcons are back in action this Saturday when they'll take on Lubbock Christian in Lubbock with tip-off scheduled around 3 p.m.
