Pat Dembley scored a game-high 37 points as the Falcons went down to the wire and were inches away from going to overtime with Eastern New Mexico. The Falcons (11-7, 4-5) overcame a 16-point second half deficit before falling in the final seconds.

Donoven Carlisle and
Miles Washington got things started for the offense scoring the first eight Falcon points. Neither team was able to grasp momentum as the lead went back and forth in the early going.
Fermandez Jones knocked down a three to give the Falcons a four-point cushion but a 7-0 Greyhound (5-8, 5-3) run put the visitors ahead. The Falcons responded with a run to take an eight-point lead, before eventually pushing it to 11 with 5:06 left to go in the half. The Greyhounds got back into the game closing the half on a 7-0 run in the final 90 seconds to tie the game at 49.
The Greyhounds stayed hot, going on a 17-1 run to open the half in just under four minutes. Facing that deficit, Dembley went to work converting on a three-point play on back to back possessions to cut the lead down to 10. After chipping away more an
Isaac Hernandez jumper made it a five-point game, less than five minutes after trailing by 16. Three-pointers by Jones and Hernandez sandwiched a Carlisle basket to make it a one-point game, but the Greyhounds responded with a three of their own.
The Falcons continued to fight, eventually taking the lead after a
Malik Anderson three-point play. The teams were tied at 88 before a 6-0 run by the Greyhounds put them ahead with just over three minutes to go. Dembley scored seven straight Falcon points cutting the deficit to a point with 39 seconds to go. The Greyhounds hit a lay-up with 10 seconds left giving them a three-point lead. Carlisle knocked down a jumper with his foot on the line, counting for just two making it a one-point game once again before the Greyhounds hit a pair of free throws to finish the game.
Dembley facilitated the Falcon offense also passing out eight assists and grabbed five steals in 39 minutes of action. Carlisle had a good offensive game scoring 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Jones piggybacked his tremendous performance Thursday scoring another 13 points. Hernandez also finished in double figures with 12 points.
Adam Rivera led the team with eight rebounds.
The Falcons hit the road next week where they open the week with showdown against Tarleton on Thursday.
